What to Expect in Counselling
Starting counselling can feel like a big step, and it’s natural to have questions about what to expect. In the first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other, explore what has brought you to counselling, and discuss your goals and hopes for therapy. This session is an opportunity to ask questions, understand the process, and begin building a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship.
Your privacy and safety are a priority. Everything discussed in sessions is kept strictly confidential, in line with ethical guidelines and professional standards. This provides a secure space where you can be open and honest without fear of judgment.
Sessions last 50 minutes, and the frequency can be tailored to your needs — weekly, fortnightly, or on a schedule that works for you. Counselling can take place in-person or online, providing flexibility to suit your circumstances.
